My culinary journey began as a way to explore the Pacific Northwest’s unique flavors and ingredients. It’s my mission to share this with others.

My name is Julia Hochstatter. I’m a home-taught chef based in Seattle who is passionate about creating delicious meals using local, seasonal ingredients. My approach to cooking is rooted in flavor and sustainability. I believe that the best meals are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients that are locally sourced whenever possible. By using seasonal produce and proteins, I aim to create dishes that are not only delicious but also showcase the unique flavors of the Pacific Northwest.

What do I do?

I am passionate about using my skills as a chef to create delicious, sustainable meals that bring people together. Whether you join me for a cooking class, pop-up dinner, or try one of my recipes at home, I hope to inspire you to explore new flavors and techniques and to appreciate the beauty of local, seasonal ingredients.

  • Through my cooking classes, I hope to inspire others to explore new ingredients and cooking techniques. I believe that cooking is a skill that anyone can learn, and it's a great way to connect with others and build community. Whether you're a seasoned home cook or a beginner in the kitchen, my classes are designed to be fun, informative, and hands-on.

  • In addition to teaching, I also host pop-up dinners where I showcase my favorite recipes and create a unique dining experience. These dinners are a chance for me to share my love of food and cooking with others in a more intimate setting. Each dinner is carefully crafted to showcase the flavors and ingredients of the season, and I always strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

  • I love recipe development and enjoy experimenting with new ingredients and flavor combinations. I am constantly researching and testing new recipes to find the perfect balance of flavors and textures. My recipes are inspired by the Pacific Northwest's bounty and are designed to be both delicious and sustainable.
